After students have been nominated by QUT to go on exchange, the Exchange Officer holds a compulsory Pre-Departure Briefing Session.

All exchange students are required to attend the pre-departure session.

The briefing is designed to cover the next stage of the exchange process. Topics include credit transfer, enrolment, health and safety, insurance, student visas, and settling in to your new environment.

Granting someone General Power of Attorney to act on your behalf whilst you are out of the country is something we recommend you consider very carefully. The website of the Queensland Government Department of Justice has information http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/guardian/poa.htm
