Health/travel insurance is mandatory for students going on student exchange.

Most universities in North America will require that students take out that university's health insurance. The costs vary at each university and you will be advised if you are required to pay the relevant health insurance fees. This will cover you for the duration of your exchange but will not cover you until you arrive at the host university.

You must also take out insurance that will cover you until you arrive at the host university and for any travel/sightseeing you decide to do at the end of your exchange. Travel insurance packages, which include health, can be obtained from your travel agent, and you should research different plans before deciding on one.

You will be required to provide evidence of health insurance purchased prior to your departure.
