1. Can anybody go on a Student Exchange program? The QUT Student Exchange Program has options for both undergraduate and postgraduate
students and for students from all of the University's faculties. Consult our
eligibility requirements for more information. 2. How much will it cost to study overseas? The cost of an exchange program varies and depends on many factors, including
the cost of living in the country/region that you study in, the type of housing
option that you choose or are assigned, and your personal spending habits
while overseas. 3. Are there any scholarships available? Scholarships are
offered to students on the Student Exchange program each semester. The awards
range from $1500 - $5000. A scholarship application can be completed as part
of the application process. 4. Where can I go? QUT has exchange agreements with more than 70 partner
institutions in Asia, Europe, and North America, offering students a wide
selection of universities to choose from. 5. Do I have to speak another language to study overseas? While some programs have specific language requirements, the majority of QUT's
partner institutions offer classes
in English or are located in English-speaking countries. Consult our list of
partner institutions for language requirements in non-English-speaking countries. 6. When are the application deadlines? The upcoming application deadlines
are listed in our Application
Process section. 7. Do I earn full credit for all of the units I take at the exchange university?
Yes, part of the application process requires you to consult with your course/major
coordinator to determine the academic credit you will receive for your exchange. 8. Will I still graduate on time if I study on an exchange program?
In most cases, going on exchange will not change your graduation date. If you
are on exchange in your final semester, then your graduation may be delayed,
although this should not be a barrier to employment or further study.
Your academic transcript will show your status as "course complete"
and you may also ask for a supporting letter from your faculty stating that
you have successfully completed your course requirements. 9. Will participating in the Student Exchange Program help me get a job after I graduate? Participating in an exchange program requires initiative, commitment, and flexibility.
Employers value all of these qualities highly, so returning exchange students
should have an edge in searching for a job. 10. When are your information sessions on campus?A list of upcoming information sessions can be found in our News & Events section. |
