Your choice of institution will be guided by your study program needs. Some institutional agreements are limited to students from a particular Faculty or School. See the individual university profiles from our list of partner institutions.

Consult your QUT course outline to determine what units you need to complete whilst overseas. Where possible, take electives during student exchange.

To determine suitable units at the host institution, consult the websites of our partner institutions  and reference material at the Study Abroad and Exchange Office .

Your Course Coordinator must approve your study program and will need to view descriptions of the units you wish to take.

You need to be a full-time student whilst on exchange. This is defined as 75% of a full-time load. At QUT you would normally enrol in 48 credit points, or in a minimum of 36 (unless you're a double degree student).

Approximate credit point translations are:

12 credit points = 3 or 4 credits in the US system
12 credit points = 7.5 ECTS in the European system
12 credit points = 5 credits in the Swedish system
12 credit points = 2.5 credits in the Norwegian system

Your course coordinator ultimately decides on how much credit you will receive for each subject you take overseas; based on his/her review of the course content and assessment.
