Under Australian student visa regulations, international students, including
exchange students, can work
for up to 20 hours per week in part-time or casual employment while university
classes are in session and full-time during vacation periods.
You may apply to the Department
of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) for
permission to work in Australia after the first day of classes.
