Academic requirements refers to the level at which you previously studied as well as the standard you achieved in your results.

To be eligible to study at QUT through the Exchange program you must:

  • have completed at least one year of full-time tertiary study at a recognised institution
  • have achieved above average results in your university studies to date (an overall GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4-point scale, or its equivalent).
  • be nominated by your home institution

Many exchange students find the workload and standard of learning at QUT is very high, requiring them to be more independent and self-motivated. Students have also noted that QUT focuses more on written assignments, with fewer multiple-choice-type exams.

Maintaining a full-time enrolment is a condition of your student visa. At QUT you will have to undertake at least 75 per cent of the normal full-time student workload each semester. This means that you will have to undertake a minimum of three 12-credit-point subjects (36 credit points in total).
