When selecting subjects (also called 'units') at QUT, it is important to remember that most subjects above the first-year introductory level have prerequisites which must be satisfied before admission will be approved.

If you wish to undertake second, third, or fourth-year subjects, the individual School or Faculty at QUT will examine your academic record from your home institution to determine whether you have passed courses comparable in content to those QUT subjects which are specified as prerequisite.

Ultimately, it is your responsibility to make sure that you meet any prerequisites for your subjects.

At your Orientation Program prior to the beginning of classes, you will also meet with Faculty representatives to discuss subject choices and pre-requisites requirements.

Co-requisites

In some cases, subjects have co-requisites, which means they are designed to be taken in conjunction with another subject.
